This is the real story of Maya, although it is strange and thought provoking, it isnt scary in nature. Maya, as a kid, saw the movie 'Lamhe', which featured Anil Kapoor & Sridevi (RIP) in lead roles. After watching Sridevi sway to the tunes of "Morni baga mein bole.." in the sand dunes of Rajasthan, Maya just fell in love with the place. Frankly, neither she, her immediate family, relatives or even friends had ever been there, nor she had any connections with the place whatsoever. But she felt an unexplainable attraction and developed a burning desire to visit the desert state, at least, once in her lifetime. She had such great love for the place, that whenever she heard of it from somebody or saw it on television she would be ecstatic and her longing to go there and experience it for herself only increased with time.
Finally, at the age of 30, Maya got the opportunity to make her dream a reality, so she along with her husband - Rajeev and son - Ishaan visited Rajasthan for around 10 days. Once they reached Jaipur, they visited the famous Jantar Mantar, City Palace & Amber Fort. After Amber fort, they were free by around 5 pm and had lots of time on hand, so they asked their driver for any other places of interest, he advised a visit to the very beautiful, Govind Dev Ji temple, which was in the old city.
So off they went, the temple was really beautiful with large premises, it seemed like an ancient structure, there was a huge crowd waiting for the curtains to open to get a glimpse of the Deity. The temple seemed open and airy due to its sheer size and in spite of the crowd didn't feel cramped at all. They too joined the other devotees waiting for 'darshan'. There were 2-3 sadhus or hermits, dressed in orange with long hair & beards, who were singing 'Bhajans' and people were enjoying, dancing & clapping to them. The atmosphere was lively and extremely positive.
That's when the curtains opened & Maya looked at the Deity and had a Deja Vu kind of an experience, she felt as though she had been to this same place a long time ago. She felt a strange familiarity looking at the Deity, while those sadhus were singing "Badi der kardi..", meaning you took too long. She felt as though those words fit perfectly for her, she took so long to come here, a place she longed to come for so many years. Maya had tears of joy in her eyes, she understood the magnetic pull of this place, the realization of a past life (maybe), power of the sub-conscious mind over the conscious mind.
Although she cannot explain the connection she feels with the temple till date, this day marked a big turning point in the spiritual journey of Maya and she truly believes in the power of God now.
