My First Encounter with something strange...

There are truly, things or incidents, happening in this world, that do not fall in the purview of science and are hard to explain, let alone make others believe in it. This is an attempt at trying to register and describe events experienced by my near and dear ones that are absolutely true, which can be scary or even divine in nature. I have a good collection of real incidents which are weird and thought-provoking at the same time. Now it is up to you, as a reader, whether to believe in them or not. 

Although, my first encounter with the paranormal is not very scary or hair-raising, however, it is something that still makes me feel uneasy and at a loss of words. This incident happened quite some time ago, I think around 6 years ago.

I'd gotten married and me and my husband were settled in the lovely city of Bengaluru, Karnataka. After about 3 months of marriage, we went to visit the Banerghatta National Park, which was at a distance of about 30-35 kms from our place. We were going to stay there in the Govt. run Resort of the National Park for a night, as my husband is a nature enthusiast and is quite fond of seeing animals in their natural habitat.

And since, there aren't any other sanctuaries or wildlife parks so close by, we thought of exploring this one. We left in the afternoon at around 2 pm, in order for us to be able to explore the Banerghatta Zoo as well. We reached there by around 3.30 pm (considering Bangalore's traffic) and went to see the Zoo. As expected, the Zoo was decent enough with big cages and enclosures. The animals seemed to me, at least, in a good condition and clean environment.

After visiting the Zoo, we also had a look at the Butterfly Park and other attractions in the National Park. My husband had booked a cottage for us in the Resort, so we had a look at the cottage and it looked great. It looked like a house on stilts and everything was made of wood. The interiors were simple and sober. There was one big window and one small vent which was at a height, quite near the ceiling. The washroom was pretty decent too.

Once we had a look at the cottage, we walked around close by and interacted with other guests of the resort. Since, there were no smart phones back then or television in the cottage, there wasn't much to do and so we went to have the buffet as soon as it was laid out. When we finished our dinner, we headed towards the cottage, as it was a tiring day and having walked quite a few miles, we were looking forward to a good night's sleep.

However, since it was quite early for our normal sleep schedule, we kept awake and started chatting casually. And our talks continued till about midnight after which we started feeling sleepy. As soon as the lights went off I'd a strong feeling that somebody was watching over us.

The big window was closed and it was absolutely still outside with no living soul in sight. All one could hear was the incessant buzzing of insects in the night sky. When i told my husband that there was somebody watching us from the small vent (fit for an exhaust fan) which was at a great height, since the cottage itself was built on a height of about 2 feet. My husband laughed at the idea, as there was nothing visible. Frankly, I couldn't see anything either, but I still remember the feeling.

It was a strange experience, as nothing was visible as such, however, I definitely felt as if somebody was standing and looking at us. Now that I think of it, I still get goosebumps and I can remember the exact feeling that I had back then of being watched. I just couldn't sleep that night as I was anxiously waiting for the night to pass. I kept looking past that window, to be able to substantiate my claim or trying to look for a possible explanation.

But, things of the paranormal nature are way beyond explanation or any kind of understanding. As soon as morning came, I got ready and told my husband to leave from that place as early as possible and thats what we did!
